Most influential books in my life

One of the most influential books in my life is "Hamlet." I never read anything by Shakespeare until in my English 1B class and that was two years ago. This book really peak my interest with colorful cast and I just imagined that Hamlet is a game of chess. It does works well for it. So each character is assigned pieces that are used in game. For example, where Hamlet is the white king piece and where the queen is black queen. I can’t put this book down at all.

Another influential book in my life is “Batman and Philosophy:The Dark Knight of the Soul.” edited by Mark D. White and Robert ARP. This book is about how Batman always makes these decisions like why he doesn’t kill the joker at all. It seems batman is always like philosopher in superhero universe. This book motivated me if I am doing right or wrong and what batman does if he was in my shoes.

A book that I read in high school is “Lord of Ring.” The book took me in to an ever-lasting journey. This book has taught me is never give up what are you questing for. But I know this meaning is wrong but it is own my meaning. Journey will guide me deeply in this book a lot. All the characters in this series are very likeable.

Those three books are very influential book in my life because they will have special meaning and sharing some memories that I had when I was reading them.

Impact

Over the course of last weekend, Jared Lee Lougher kills six people including Gabrielle Giffords, Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Arizona's 8th congressional district since 2007 and this young girl was born on September 11. Jared Lee Lougher was 22-years-old psycho republican that went to the gun store and buy ammo but a few stores. So when I first heard about this, I thought why this happened often but there no reason at all. On three days ago, Jared Lee Lougher was to court and he was found guilty under the influence Sarah Palin Twittering picture of bull eye plus his illness droves him to it as well and a lot thing went through his mind. The judge found him being guilty because he shot six people on last Saturday.

Lougher is trying to use his blame of the media to get a mistrial. I don’t think him able to see the sun in awhile at all. He tried to deny it and but it has failed.

Week 1: Media Autobiography

Hello my name is Anthony Nguyen.  Growing up I have had experience with all types of media, some of them were good, and some were decent. When I was growing up, I always had good times with the Goosebump series as well as all Captain Underpants. The one book that sticks out from my coming of age is Robin Hood. That book made an impact on my life because I learned a lot from it. As I got older, I slowly drifted away from my interest in books and moved on to television. From age four, I liked television.
When I started watching television, I was around five or six.  I liked cartoons like Rocko’s Modern Life and Flintstones.  As I grew older, I began to be interested in sports mainly basketball and hockey. I also enjoyed watching comedy from a young age, and I think that comedy had a big role in my personality today.  Still, I rarely watch anything but sports and cartoons, and the cartoons that I watch now are Japanese anime.  I didn’t care about watching stupid reality shows like A Shot of Love or Big Brother.  I think these shows have a bad reputation on society in the world, and plus it is not well written at all.
During high school my love for sports went through the roof, and I became fond of the San Jose Mercury News.  Every time that I saw the newspaper lying around the table, I could be found checking the standings of the NBA or figuring out who was getting traded where. I loved the sports, technology, and comic section because that was the only thing that appealed to me.
Some of my friends loaned me some magazines about video games which allowed me to get some information on upcoming video games and consoles. I also bought a few magazines from stores, and they showed what’s new in Japanese anime and video games.
I was not too big on music until I was in eighth grade. The first CD I bought was the Rugrats, the original soundtrack from the movie. My music tastes have been growing beginning in high school when I started to be a big fan of Punk Rock. I still maintain a varied music collection ranging from NOFX (punk) to Talib Kweli (Hip-Hop).
I do listen to some radio such as college radio that is not controlled by the FCC.  Sometime I do change the radio station depending upon what song is playing on that station. I also listen to sports on the radio. I do feel that it is quiet when I don’t listen to the radio in the car.
When I was eight years old, I had seen many previews of Toy Story on television. On the release date of the movie, my dad took my sister and me to the movie theater. Suddenly there were many countless people standing outside and purchasing their tickets early. I never got a chance to watch it in theater, and I waited about two years later for the movie to be released on VHS.  So I have watched that movie countless times from start to finish.
Lastly, my favorite and most used in mass media is the internet.  Here the things I can do on the internet I can post on message board, chat with friends with using instant messenger, and I can look stuff up about music, gaming, and sports. Also, it is research the things are appealing to me on a desire for through Google and Wikipedia. I love using the internet because I can learn what is going on with the other side of world.
I still use most media expect for books. Music and internet are my favorite because they are very personal to me. I think other aspect of media played small roles in my life.
